  • Raigad
  • History:
  • Ghosalgad Fort [Contributed by Mr. E.H. Mosqardi.C.S,] (T. Roha), six miles south of Roha, is located on the fringe of the hilly nation that occupies the center of the Roha taluka, between the Revadanda creek on the south-east. It’s a completely remoted hill, the bottom to the north, east, and south being stage, very barely raised above the ocean and intersected by tidal creeks. Solely on the west a barely raised neck of land joins It to the principal vary or group of hills. The bottom of the hill Is elliptical in form, being a couple of mile and a half in size, from east to west by half a mile in breadth from north to south. Its top is seemingly about 1,000 ft, and because it stands fully aside, it’s a very conspicuous object when seen from the north, south, or east.
