The same train can be boarded at Goregaon station (not to be confused with Goregaon on Mumbai western railway) at 5 pm.
  • Description:
  • Panhaledurg fort is used to keep a watch on Raigad route. This fort is very small. One can see 3 water cisterns on top of the fort. Nothing else is present on top of the fort. Chatrpati Shivaji Maharaj made Raigad as the capital of Maratha kingdom, and built a chain of forts to strengthen it. This included Mangad, Panhaledurga, Songad, Chambhargad and Lingana were amongst them. Panhaledurga is quite small, and was mainly used to keep watch on enemies reaching Raigad. The bastions and entrance are destroyed, with some remnants of ramparts. There are around 14 water tanks on the fort. It takes half an hour to see the fort.
