- History of Manikgad Fort Manikgad Fort was founded during the 9 Century CE by Gahilu who was the last Mana Naga King. The Mana Naga tribe settled in this region around 9 century CE. The fortress was named Manikagad after Goddess Manikadevi who is the patron deity of the Mana Nagas. Eventually the name was modified to Manikgad.

- Manikgad Fort, Monument of MaharashtraManikgad Fort is an ancient hill fortress which is located in the district of Chandrapur in the state of Maharashtra. It was built by the Naga rulers in the 9 Century CE at an altitude of 507 m. The structure is presently in a ruined and dilapidated condition. The site is inhabited by many wild animals such as boars and panthers, Manikgad Fort is also known as Gadchandur Fort.
