• Description:
• Sagargad which is also known as Kheddurg (खेडदुर्ग) is a hill fort which was built to watch out the beaches of Alibaug and Dharamtar River. Till the establishment of forts like Khanderi, Kolaba and Sarjekot by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the responsibility of security of the beach around Alibaug was on Sagargad alone.

• History:
• Very less is known about this fort. King Shivaji won this fort from Adilshah in 1660 A.D.Sagargad was one of the 23 forts which were handed over to Moghuls in the Treaty of Purandar.
